Panchayat election in J'khand after SC's decision: Koda
Ranchi, Dec 26 (UNI) Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda today asserted that panchayat elections would be held in the state as soon as the Supreme Court asks it to.
Municipal elections would also be held soon.
Talking to reporters here after completing 100 days in office, Mr Koda said the government had initiated steps to formulate a separate policy adding, an act had also been formed for conducting the election.
On the issue of ongoing agitation by the engineers, Mr Koda cited the example of neighbouring state and said agitations were also staged in Bihar but no result came out of it.
He said negotiation was the only way to find a solution to any problem.
Engineers in the state were agitating over the alleged use of filthy language by the water resources secretary while taking to the department's engineers.
Meanwhile, Water Resources Minister Kamlesh Singh had urged the agitating engineers to rejoin work.
