Vaiko has no powers to expel us: Ganesan

Tiruchirapalli, Dec 23 (UNI) Dissident Marumalarchi DMK (MDMK) Leader L Ganesan, MP, tonight said Party General Secretary Vaiko had no powers to expel him or Deputy General Secretary Gingee N Ramachandran from the post.

Reacting strongly to Mr Vaiko's reported move to expel him and Mr Ramachandran from party posts, Mr Ganesan told UNI from Thanjavur over phone that he and Mr Ramachandran were elected as Presidium Chairman and Deputy General Secretary respectively by the MDMK General Council.

''Only the General Council has the power to expel us and either Vaiko or the District Secretaries Meeting cannot do it.'' He also said they recieved the news stripping them of party posts a few mintues ago and will hold consultations with senior party leaders and act accordingly.

''In all possibility and propability we will move Madras High Court in this regard,'' he asserted.
