Vajpayee an incomparable leader: Joshi
Lucknow, Dec 22: The debate over the party's Prime Ministerial candidate refuses to die down in the BJP.
Dr Murli Manohar Joshi, senior BJP leader and bete noire of Mr L K Advani, today added a new dimension to the debate by describing Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee as an incomparable leader not just within the party but the entire country.
He said though there were many leaders capable of handling the Prime Minister's job, Mr Vajpayee was ''incomparable''.
Dr Joshi's remarks assume significance as they come on the heels of Mr Advani's interview to a TV channel in which he asserted that he was the ''prime minister in waiting'' and hinted that he would lead the BJP in the next Lok Sabha polls in 2009.
Mr Advani's claim was countered by Mr Vajpayee during the birthday function of BJP Parliamentary Party Spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra when the former prime minister said he was still ''very much round''.
