4 US soldiers killed in Iraq's Anbar province

Baghdad, Dec 22: Four US soldiers were killed in Iraq's restive western province of Anbar, the US military said today.

''Three Marines and one sailor assigned to Regimental Combat Team 7 died yesterday from wounds sustained due to enemy action while operating in Al Anbar Province,'' the US military said in a statement. Sailors are normally attached to Marine units as medics.

Anbar, the heartland of the Sunni Arab insurgency, is the deadliest region for US troops in Iraq.
