U-15 Cricket Academy approved
Agartala, Dec 21 (UNI) Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) today welcomed Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)'s decision to open zonal Under-15 National Cticket Academy in this capital.
TCA secretary Arindam Ganguly told UNI here that the decision of the BCCI was encouraging for budding cricketers.
The proposal for setting up of CA in this N E state was raised at a meeting of the National Cricket Academy meeting at Bangalore on Tuesday, where one of the 20 members of the state, Samar Pal who attended the meeting said Tripura was most advanced in side of infrustructure and the academy be set up in the state, he stressed.
During the NCA meeting, former Indian Captain Kapil Dev was also present and supported the state's demand for setting up of CA in this state turning down Orissa's attempt.
Regarding the holding of international level cricket tournaments here, Ganguly said due to a lack of star category hotel, such matches cannot take place.
