Sub-Comm constituted to create Multi-Purpose Coop Housing Societies

New Delhi, Dec 21 (UNI) The Delhi Government today constituted a sub committee to monitor the construction and allotment works of the Multi-Purpose Group Housing Societies, as part of its efforts to provide flats to Slum and J J dwellers.

DCHFC Chairman, Deep Chand Sharma will be the Chairman of the newly-constituted Sub-committee while MLA Vijay Lochav, MD of National cooperative housing federation M L Khurana, Secretary, Delhi State Cooperative Union Ltd P M Sharma, D C Slum and JJ K K Panda and Jt Registrar of Co-operative Societies G S Meena are members of the Sub-committee.

Co-operative and Development Minister of Delhi Raj Kumar Chauhan told mediapersons here that the constitution of the Sub-committee would accelerate the work of the proposed project and would also pave the way for smooth functioning of the work.

The Minister informed that the Governmenty would provide flats to the JJ and slum dwellers at the minimum cost of Rs 1,55,000. The amount of Rs 15,000 would be provided by the Delhi Government and the Centre would contribute Rs 40,000 to the beneficiaries. The beneficiaries will have to pay Rs 10,000 each and the rest amount would be provided in easy installments.

The Committee, in association with the Food and Civil Supplies Department and the Slum and JJ Department, would jointly scrutinise the authenticity of the beneficiaries of the Scheme and also would select the members to be included in the Societies.

Mr Chauhan said the Sub-committee would select the alottees on the basis of the list provided by the Slum and JJ Department. The Sub-committee would also update the Minister regarding the progress of the activities of the Multipurpose Co-operative Housing Societies.

The Minister has directed the Sub-committee to provide verified list of all the four registered societies by January 8 next year.
