Sreenivas Prasad to join Congress

New Delhi, Dec 21 (UNI) The Congress will receive a boost in Karnataka with two former Union Ministers in the NDA Government set to join the party.

Mr V Sreenivas Prasad, a four-time Congress MP had joined Samata Party and was Minister of State for Food and Consumer Affairs while Mr Dhananjay Kumar, a former BJP MP, was Minister of State for Finance.

The party is likely to announce only Mr Prasad's name today. The induction of Mr Kumar and actor-turned-MP Sashi Kumar was 'a mere formality', top AICC sources said.

Mr Prasad confirmed to UNI about his joining Congress and said he had been inactive for quite some time and decided to return 'home' and to active politics.

Mr Kumar, who is at presently here, said he had received 'feelers' from the Congress but he was still undecided on the approach.
