Sonia hosts dinner for UPA allies

New Delhi, Dec 21 (UNI) Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi hosted a dinner to her UPA allies at her residence here tonight to discuss with them the current political situation.

Leaders of the Left parties, supporting the Congress-led UPA coalition Government from outside, who were also invited, attended the dinner, according to sources.

The Indo-US nuclear deal, Sachar panel report, strategy for the forthcoming Assembly elections in four states and Women Reservation Bill are believed to have figured, among other issues, during the informal discussions with the allies over the dinner.

According to sources, those who attended the dinner included CPI-M leaders Prakash Karat and Sitaram Yechury, Mr D Raja(CPI), Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar(NCP), Railway Minister Lalu Prasad(RJD), Communciations Minister Dayanidhi Maran(DMK) and Health Minister A Ramadoss (PMK) and Minister for Steel Ram Vilas Paswan.
