SI commits suicide

Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, Dec 21 (UNI) A sub-inspector of police attached to the Gingee Police Station allegedly committed suicide at his Kedar Police Quarters here last night.

According to police, M Senthil Kumar (35) committed suicide by consuming liquor mixed with poison.

His wife who was away in Madurai tried to reach him over phone last night. Since there was no response she rang up the Gingee Police Station.

A constable who went to the police officer's quarters found his dead body.

The reason for Kumar taking the extreme step was not immediately known.
