Hutchison gets interest in Indian asset: Source

London, Dec 21: Hutchison Whampoa has received expressions of interest from potential bidders for its Indian mobile phone business Hutchison Essar, a source familiar with the situation told Reuters on Thursday.

However, the source said Hutchison was unlikely to sell at the prices indicated by potential suitors so far.

The Financial Times newspaper reported, without naming its sources, that British mobile phone giant Vodafone was considering a .5-billion-plus offer for Hutchison Essar and that this was likely to spark a counter-offer from India's Reliance Communications.
