Govt committed to revive educational scenario-Nitish
Patna, Dec 21 (UNI) Laying emphasis on common school system for providing uniform education to all, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said the government would review the recommendations and suggestions of the expert committee for revival of educational scenario of the state.
After the 15 membered committee submitted its report, Mr Kumar told newspersons here that the government was mulling for implementation of common school system and the committee had looked into it minutely.
Suggestions of the committee constituted in February this year would be considered after its proper review he said adding that the committee was asked to suggest ways for handing over the school education to Panchayati Raj and civic bodies.
The committee had made some suggestions in the light of right to education as the governments responsibilities had increased in this respect.
Mr Kumar said that the panchayat bodies were being empowered for handling school education and for appointment of teachers.
The CM said that Bihar was preparing its approach paper with special emphasis on education for the 11th finance commission begning from the next financial year. He assured all possible help for revival of educational scenario in the state.
Meanwhile, Human Resource Development Minister Vrishan Patel said the recomendations of the committee would be implemented after careful review of the report. He said the committee submitted its report within the stipulated period and the viability of the recomendations would be assessed.
