Former Doordarshan Director gets three years RI
Kochi, Dec 21 (UNI) Former Doordarshan Director Peer Mohammed was today sentenced to three years rigorous imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 on charges of graft by a CBI court here.
According to an official release, he had demanded a bribe of Rs two lakh from Ashok Sangeeth, producer of a TV serial when he was in office.
He had demanded money for granting approval for the restart and telecast of further extension of 130 more episodes of the serial, the release added.
Mohammed was arrested by the CBI in 2004.
