Cyrus Poonawalla retains control over RWITC

Mumbai, Dec 21 (UNI) In a keenly contested election, Dr Cyrus Poonawalla retained control over the Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) with his group emerging victorious by a 5-4 margin here tonight.

Vivek Jain, Cyrus Poonawalla, Champaklal Zaveri, Dr S C Jain, Shivlal Daga, Dr Vijay Mallya, Shyam Ruia, K M Dhunjibhoy and Vijay Shirke were elected to the RWITC Committee, RWITC sources told UNI.

The first five candidates are from the Poonawalla group, while the others belonged to Mallya's team.
