Copper, Nickel decline on poor industrial demand

Mumbai, Dec 21 (UNI) Copper and Nickel declined on poor industrial demand in line with London metal exchange, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange today said.

In Ferrous section, Copper heavy, Copper utensil, Brass utensil and Brass cutting eased by Rs 200 each per quintal while Aluminium utensil fell by Rs 100 per quintal on lack of fresh demand.

In Non-ferrous section, Copper wire bars and Lead ingots drifted lower by Rs 500 and Rs 200 per quintal respectively on inreased stock supply.

Nickel cathode eased by Rs 30 per kg on sluggish demand by stockists.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 34,000, Copper utensils - Rs 31,200, Brass utensils - Rs 22,600, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,300 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 10,900.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 37,500, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,200, Zinc slab - Rs 23,300, Lead ingots - Rs 8,000, Tin slab - Rs 600 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,740 ( kg).
