Vishwamitra Vaswani is dead

Ujjain, MP, Dec 20 (UNI) Painter and theatre personality Vishwamitra Vaswani passed away here this evening after prolonged illness.

The artist -- a bachelor -- was about 80. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon.

Vaswani received an award from India's first president Rajendra Prasad during a national statue and painting exhibition, which was part of the All-India Kalidas Samaroh here. He served as Madhya Pradesh Kala Parishad director, was a member of the national statue and painting exhibition selection committee and also Gwalior Fine Arts College principal.
