Two Kashmiri militants arrested, weapons recovered
Mumbai, Dec 20 (UNI) Two suspected Kashmiri militants, who arrived here this morning from Jammu and Kashmir allegedly with the intention of committing a robbery, were arrested at Nagpada in southcentral Mumbai and weapons seized from their possession.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Panjabrao Ugale told mediapersons that the duo, aged 23 and 19, had alighted at the Mumbai Central station at 0630 hours today. He, however, refused to disclose their names.
Mr Ugale said the duo went to a nearby brothel. They, however, got involved in a quarrel with a pimp following which one of them whipped out a revolver and threatened the latter. The pimp fled the scene and informed the Nagpada police.
Acting on the information, the police apprehended the duo.
The DGP said the 23-year-old youth was an Army deserter and was also involved in a robbery case in Jammu and Kashmir. Police have seized one foreign-made revolver along with four live cartridges and a country-made revolver with three live cartridges from the two.
They will be produced before a local court tomorrow.
