TN gets two points against Saurashtra

Rajkot, Dec 20 (UNI) Tamil Nadu garnered two points by virtue of their first innings lead against Saurashtra in the super league Ranji match which ended in a draw on the last day of the four-day match at the Madhavrao Scindia ground here today.

Tamil Nadu scored 110 for 2 in their second innings after Saurashtra were all out for 386. Tamil Nadu gained 114 runs lead over Saurashtra.

Opener S Annirudha of Tamil Nadu played a sparkling innings by scoring 56 before he was run out by R Jadeja. In the 59 balls innings, he executed eight fours and one mighty six. Seamer Sandip Maniar dismissed the opener M Vijay. He was caught by K Vaghela after scoring 14 runs.

Before mandatory over started, both the captains agreed to call it a day. R Prasanna and K S Vasudeva Das were not out on 33 and 7 runs respectively when stumps were drawn.

Saurashtra started their first innings at the overnight score of 325 for four, were all out at lunch after adding another 61 runs and lost remaining six wickets.

Yesterday's century maker Cheteshwar Pujara added another 32 runs to his kitty before he was dismissed by Medium Pacer R Jesuraj.

His 177-run innings contained 28 fours and has faced 329 balls.

Medium pacers - Yo Mahesh and R Jesuraj - scalped 4 wickets each while conceding 111 and 74 runs respectively. R Naresh grabbed two wickets for 53.

Saurashtra lst Innings 386 for all in 149.4 overs (Sagar Jogiyani 49, S Kotak 84, Cheteshwar Pujara 177 YO Mahesh 4 for 111, R Jesuraj 4 for 74 and R Naresh two for 53).

Tamil Nadu 2nd Innings : 110 for two wickets in 43 overs ( Annirudha 56, R Prasanna not out 33, Sandip Maniar one for 32).
