Three police constables dismissed
Mumbai, Dec 20 (UNI) Three police constables, attached to Dongri police station in South Mumbai, were today dimissed from service by the City Police Commissioner A N Roy for their alleged involvement in corruption.
Police sources said about two months ago, Sanjay Parab, Sandeep Mane and Sanjay Nirmal, had intercepted Aslam Khan in Hotel Khairat and seized a fake passport from him. To settle the issue, the trio demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from Aslam.
Thereafter, they had lodged a fake passport case against Aslam.
When Aslam was released on bail by police, he approached Samajwadi Party (SP) Rajya Sabha member from Uttar Pradesh Abu Azmi in this regard. With the help of Mr Azmi, he approached Mr Roy and narrated the whole episode to him.
Mr Roy then ordered an inquiry against the trio. The inquiry committee submitted its report to the Police Commissioner recently.
They were dismissed from service under section 311 of CrPC, sources added.
