Swamy condemns condolence meetings for Balasingham
New Delhi, Dec 20 (UNI) Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy today denounced the condolence meetings arranged for LTTE ideologue Antony Balasingham in Chennai and the sorrow expessed by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on his death.
''Balasingham was a terrorist who has publicly and arrogantly taken pride in the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi,'' he said in a statement released here.
''In 1995, he had warned then President of Sri Lanka Chandirika Kumaratunge that she would face the same fate as Rajiv Gandhi if she confronted the LTTE.'' ''Therefore, it is shocking that Mr Karunanidhi stated that his demise is an irreparable loss and for LTTE advocates such as Vaiko and Nedumaran to shed tears for him.'' Dr Swamy said Congress President Sonia Gandhi should explain whether her political alliance partner, Mr Karunanidhi was expressing her sentiments too on Balasingham's demise.
