Sugar prices ease on thin buying support

Mumbai, Dec 20 (UNI) Sugar prices eased today on thin buying support, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said.

Sugar in small and medium grades declined by Rs 20 and Rs five per quintal on lack of fresh demand, Sugar in ex-mill small and medium grades drifted lower by Rs 10 each per quintal on increase of stock supply.

Following were the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,580/1,620, Medium grade: Rs 1,627/1,685 Ex-mill: Small grade: Rs 1,550/1,600, Medium grade: Rs 1,610/1,670.
