SPO injured, two arrested and arms and ammunition recovered in J

Srinagar, Dec 20 (UNI) A Special Police Officer (SPO) was injured while police and security forces arrested two persons and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition in Jammu and Kashmir overnight, official spokesman said today.

He said militants attacked a police party at Batoli Gali in Doda district of Jammu region last night causing injuries to one SPO.

Police personnel also retaliated but the militants managed to escape under the cover of darkness.

A police naka party during a routine checking arrested a driver and conductor. One pistol, one magazine and eight rounds were recovered from their bus.

Police recovered two rockets with boosters from a hideout at Zabarwan in Dachigam area. Security forces also recovered one AK rifle, two magzines, 56 rounds of ammunition, eleven grenades in Kupwara. However, no one was arrested.
