rice bags seized from two godowns in TN

Tiruchirapalli, Dec 20 (UNI) Sleuths of the State Food Cell CID wing of Police today seized over 275 Bags of rice meant for supply through Public Distribution System (PDS) in a raid at two godowns at Puthur area in the city.

Police said acting on a tip off, a special CID team of the Food Cell, conducted surprise raids in two godowns and effected the seizure. Four ration cards were also seized in the raid.

One person was arrested, while another person was stated to be absconding.

An investigation was underway, police added.
