Rail traffic on Amritsar Delhi route disrupted for 4 Hrs
Jalandhar, Dec 20 (UNI) Various farmer outfits today held 'rail roko' agitation at Mannawala railway station near Amritsar disrupting traffic on the Amritsar Delhi route for four-and-a-half hours this afternoon.
The demonstration which began around 1300 hours lasted for over four hours and upset the schedule of several trains, including Amritsar Delhi Shatabdi Express, railway spokesman said here.
The Delhi bound 2032 Shatabdi Express and Amritsar Nizamuddin (Delhi) were delayed by about three hours while Tatanagar bound 8104 Amritsar Tatanagar Murrie Express was running late by four-and-a-half hours and Amritsar Bilaspur Chhattishgarh Express, Amritsar Howrah Mail and Amritsar Howrah Express were late by about 2 hours.
Meanwhile, Amritsar Darbanga Shaheed Express which was running several hours late due to foggy weather conditions on the way for several days, was cancelled today to regularise its schedule.
Darbanga Amrisar Surya Jamuna Express and Katihar Amritsar Janseva Express were also running late by 11 hours and 9 hours respectively, the spokesman added.
