Price index up by four points

Shimla, Dec 20 (UNI) The All India Consumer Price Index number for agricultural labourers and rural labourers base (1986-87-100) registered and increased by four points each in both series during the month of November 2006 to stand at 390 and 391 respectively.

However, the point to point rate of inflation based on CPI-AL and CPI-RL decreasecd from 8.48 and 8.10 per cent to 8.33 and 8.01 per cent respectively during the month, the labour bureau sources said here today.

The increase in index was attributed to rise in prices of rice, pulses, vegetables, fruits, firewood ,cotton and dry chillies.
