President leaves after two-day visit to Kerala
Kochi, Dec 20 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam left for New Delhi this evening after attending various programmes during his two-day visit to the state.
The President was seen off by Governor R L Bhatia, Fisheries Minister S Sarma, State Chief Secretary Lizzie Jacob, Ernakulam District Collector Mohammed Hanish, Parliamentarian Lonappan Nambandan and K Babu MLA.
Mr Sarma presented a photo-album of the President's visit to Mr Kalam at the tarmac.
During his visit Mr Kalam attended the concluding function of the golden jubilee celebrations of the state formation and inaugurated the centenary birth celebrations of Panampilly Govinda Menon in Thrissur today.
He also dedicated to the nation Amrita Sethu, a bridge connecting tsunami-hit Alappad island with the mainland in Kollam district.
Yesterday, Mr Kalam inaugurated the Science and Technology Museum and the centenary celebrations of the CSI church here.
