One NSCN cadre killed in factional clash

Kohima, Dec 20 (UNI) A NSCN-IM cadre was killed when the rival NSCN(K) ambushed A vehicle on the National Highway 39, below Jotsoma village, about 20 Kms from here.

Official sources said police recovered a dead body of one NSCN cadre with four bullet marks on his neck, from the side of the National Highway 39 with a damaged vehicle yesterday.

Police recovered some rucksacks containing blanket, tooth brush, paste and a jacket from the vehicle.

Meanwhile, the NSCN(K) sources claimed that they took away one AK47 Assault Rifle from the vehicle and injured some passengers of the vehicle who managed to escape.

The incident occurred only after three days of the killing of the Education Kilonser of the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) L Palang Khiamnungan below the Assembly Secretariat here in the heart of this capital town.

In view of yesterday's inter-factional clash, the District Administration of Kohima has beefed up the security in and around Kohima, fearing more retaliatory inter-factional clash during the busy hours of Christmas shopping in the town, sources said.
