Naib tehsildar arrested for fake certificate in Kashmir

Srinagar, Dec 20 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Police today claimed to have arrested a senior revenue official for issuing a fake Resident of Backward Area Certificate (RBA) to his daughter who secured admission in a medical college on that basis.

Police said naib tehsildar Abdul Gani Mir, a resident of Vilgam in Handwara area in Kupwara district, was arrested following a complaint.

They said the Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara had lodged a complaint with the Vilgam police station stating that Mir had issued a fake RBA certificate for his daughter Bilques Bano who is at present doing MBBS from the Government Medical College at Jammu.

Police lodged an FIR under section 468 and 420 RPC. A departmental inquiry was also conducted to ascertain the facts.
