More than 150 foreign delegates to attend IndiaSoft 2007

Bangalore, Dec 20 (UNI) More than 150 foreign delegates from 40 countries are expected to participate in the 'IndiaSoft 2007' scheduled to be held in Hyderabad on January Nine and 10.

The event was jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry with Andhra Pradesh being the partner State.

Talking to newsmen here last night, ESC Executive Director D K Sareen said that " this initiative of the Council was a conscious effort to prepare Indian companies to capture a sizeable share of the outsourcing global market. More than 60 per cent of the Fortune 500 companies are outsourcing their works and the expectations are that this number is going to increase in the coming years".

ESC Chairman Nalin Kohil said that 'IndiaSoft' was different from other events as it focused on home-grown software companies--it gave a first hand feel to Indian Software industry and encouraged Indian software companies which have products/services with export potential and the emphasis was to showcase the achievements of the small and medium enterprises in this area.

He said that 'Indiasoft 2007' would focus on the emerging IT outsourcing opportunities in the non-traditional markets of European Union and the Far East Asian countries, the huge Latin American IT market, the potential markets of Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa and the CIS.
