Mercury drops in parts of AP
Hyderabad, Dec 20 (UNI) Minimum temperatures dipped at a few places over Telangana and Rayalaseema in Andhra Pradesh in the last 24 hours even as dry weather prevailed over the state.
The lowest minimum temperature of eight degree Celsius was recorded at Adilabad, the Weather office here said.
The North Coastal Andhra reeled under cold wave conditions due to continental winds from the north eastern direction, a report from Visakhapatnam quoting Cyclone Warning Centre spokesman said.
The minimum temperatures fell drastically in the last one week with Chintapalli Agency Area recording five degree during the last 48 hrs.
The sudden fall in temperature has disrupted flight operations and road traffic. The current condition is expected to continue for yet another week with the mercury dipping further, the report added.
The minimum temperatures rose at a few places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and changed little over Telangana and Rayalaseema.
They were below normal at a few places over Telangana and Rayalaseema but above normal at one or two places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, the weather office here said.
Mainly dry weather will prevail over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Rayalaseema in the next 24 hours.
Hyderabad will have mainly clear sky. Minimum temperature will be around 12 degree, it added.
