Members of Deaf federation to observe fast on Dec 23
Chennai, Dec 20 (UNI) Members of the Tamil Nadu State Federation of the Deaf will observe a day-long fast here on December 23, to condemn the non-implementation of the Will left behind by former Chief Minister M G Ramachandran even after 19 years of his demise.
Federation chairman K Vijayakumar and general secretary E K Jamal Ali, talking to newspersons here today, alleged that Mr Rajendran, the present executor of the 'Will' was indulging in several malpractices, which were totally against the last wish of MGR.
There were nearly two lakh deaf and dumb people in the state and for their welfare only, the late leader had kept some valuable assets, they said adding that out of the income from the assets, a special school for deaf and dumb could be run in the Ramavaram garden, where late MGR lived. But, Mr Rajendran was not following the instructions mentioned in the Will, they added.
They said hundreds of hearing impaired persons from all over the state would participate in the proposed hunger strike.
