Lawyers' meet to begin from Dec 21

Rajahmundry, Dec 20: The three-day national conference of theIndian Association of Lawyers (IAL) will begin at Kochi from December21.

In a press release here, IAL Andhra Pradesh Unit General SecretaryMuppalla Subba Rao said more than 500 delegates from India and abroadwould attend the meeting.

The conference would deliberate on five areas including Indian Constitution, globalisation and role of lawyers.

The changing pattern of legal profession/legal education, purityof election process and need for reforms will also find place in thedeliberations.

IAL Honorary President Mr Justice P L Bhagwati and IAL PresidentMr Justice V R Krishna Iyer would be among the distinguished gathering.

Supreme Court Judge K G Balakrishnan would inaugurate theconference with Union Minister of State for Law H R Bharadwaj as thechief guest.

Kerala Chief Justice V K Bali would grace the occasion, the release added.
