Lawyers' meet to begin Dec 21

Rajahmundry, Dec 20 (UNI) The three-day national conference of the Indian Association of Lawyers (IAL) will begin at Kochi from December 21.

In a press release here, IAL Andhra Pradesh Unit General Secretary Muppalla Subba Rao said more than 500 delegates from India and abroad would attend the meeting.

The conference would deliberate on five areas including Indian Constitution, globalisation and role of lawyers.

The changing pattern of legal profession/legal education, purity of election process and need for reforms will also find place in the deliberations.

IAL Honorary President Mr Justice P L Bhagwati and IAL President Mr Justice V R Krishna Iyer would be among the distinguished gathering.

Supreme Court Judge K G Balakrishnan would inaugurate the conference with Union Minister of State for Law H R Bharadwaj as the chief guest.

Kerala Chief Justice V K Bali would grace the occasion, the release added.
