Labour laws, implementation of labour schemes to dominate ILC meet
New Delhi, Dec 20 (UNI) Labour laws and their effective impelmentation, Bonus act, Contract Act among others will dominate the proceedings of the 41st session of the Indian Labour Conference.
The agenda was finalised following a day-long delibrations by the social partners at the Meeting of the Standing Labour Committee here today.
The meeting, inaugurated by Minister for Labour and Employment Oscar Fernandes, was attended by representatives of Trade Unions, Employers' organisations, state governments and Union ministries and Departments.
Mr Fernandes said his Ministry was working on modalities to provide relief to a large number of workers in the unorganised sector through legislative measures.
He said extension of various schemes like that of Janshree Bima Yojna, Shramik Samajik Suraksha was also being worked out.
Assuring the protection of the interests of the workers, he said recently the workers of the IT sector had been included under the Employees Provident Fund. Proposal for enactment of legislation and formulation of social security scheme for the unorganised workers was under the consideration of the government, the Minister added.
