Journalists to take out rally to protest police "excess"

Kolkata, Dec 20 (UNI) The Press Club, Kolkata, will take out a rally tomorrow to protest police "excess" on journalists at Sheoraphuli a week back and today's manhandling of a lady journalist allegedly by Trinamool Congress activists here.

The rally would be taken out to protest police's unprovoked lathicharge on media persons at Sheoraphuli while covering the CPI(ML)'s rally to Singur.

It would also protest the manhandling of a journalist of an electronics channel by some Trinamool workers in front of party supremo Mamata Banerjee's dharna manch, Press Club sources said.
