Highway blockade suspended in Manipur

Imphal, Dec 20 (UNI) The blockade on NH-53, Imphal to Jiribam, was lifted from today by the Jiribam District Demand Committee.

The committee had suspended the blockade temporarily considering the Christmas festival. It will be suspended till January 3.

From November 27 onward, the Committee had blocked the highway demanding immediate granting of full revenue district status to Jiribam sub division of Imphal East.

Various oragnisations had appealed to the committee to lift the blockade considering the Christmas festival and New Year.
