Fire breaks out in Surat factory; 11 people rescued

Surat, Dec 20 (UNI) Eleven workers, including four women, were rescued from a fire in a factory in Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) complex, this afternoon, sources said.

The fire broke out at Jayraj Industrial Estate in Sachin GIDC complex around 1500 hrs today.

The Surat fire brigade immediately rushed to the spot and rescued 11 workers who were trapped inside the factory, sources said.

All the rescued workers are safe, sources added.

However, sources informed that the fire dousing is still going on and the reasson for the disaster is yet to be ascertained.
