CPI demands curb on blackmarketing of essential commodities
Hyderabad, Dec 20 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Unit of the Communist Party of India(CPI) today demanded the Government to take measures to curb the blackmarketing of the essential commodities in the State.
Talking to newspersons here, CPI floor leader Chala Venkata Reddy alleged that the Govenment had failed to control the prices of essential commodities and action against the blackmarketers, who were hoarding stocks were not taken.
Mr Reddy alleged that the police arrested the State Secretary of the party P Narayana and its workers in Visakhapatnam yesterday, and filed false cases against them.
He alleged that the people in the State were not getting essential commodities through the fair price shops in the state. He demanded the Government to supply essential commodites through the civil supply department which he alleged was not functioning in a proper way.
