Charas worth Rs 2 lakh seized, one arrested
Junagadh, Dec 20 (UNI) Police have seized two kilograms of 'charas', valued at over Rs 2 lakh, and arrested one person from Supasi village in Veraval taluka of this district of Gujarat.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by sub-inspector Narendrasinh Chudasma raided the residence of one Juma Hasan Sandhi last evening and found the ''charas'' wrapped in a newspaper published from Jammu. This led the police to suspect that the ''charas'' may have come from Jammu.
Two months ago, ''charas'', worth Rs 25 lakh, was seized from near Girnar Darwaza here and a man and two women were then arrested.
However, the main culprit, Ashvin Valku Kadhi, had managed to escape. Police had suspected a Kashmir link in the case too.
Police had seized ''charas'' in three separate incidents from Mangrol, earlier too, valued at around Rs 20 lakh.
