BOI zone earns Rs 32 crore in H1
Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, Dec 20 (UNI) The Bank of India (BOI) has earned a gross income of Rs 32 crore in Visakhapatnam Zone in Andhra Pradesh during the first half of the current financial year, BOI Zonal Manager D V S K Murthy today said.
Addressing a media conference here, he said the bank had expanded its business in the zone to Rs 1,567 crore as on October 31,2006 comprising Rs 546 crore in deposits and Rs 1,021 crore in loans creating a credit-deposit ratio of 187 per cent.
The bank had achieved progress in minimising the bad debts by collecting Rs 12 crore of Rs 58.75 crore during last seven months.
He said the bank has also extending loans to self-help groups and disbursed Rs 561 crore till date from last April.
The BOI opened its 47th branch at Uppada Village that came under Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Kakinada in East Godavari District.
