Bandh affects life in Kokrajhar district

Kokrajhar, Dec 20 (UNI) Life was affected in the Kokrajhar district of Asom today following a 12-hour bandh in protest against the killing of a Bengali student at Dotma on December 13.

The bandh, called by the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) region Bengali Youth Students' Federation, began at 0500 hrs.

Official sources said all shops and business establishments as well as educational and financial institutions remained closed.

Roads also wore a deserted look. Attendance at government offices was also low.

Police said no untoward incident has been reported so far.
