ADG submits report before HC on kidnapping of witness

Patna, Dec 20 (UNI) Additional Director General of Police D N Gautam today submitted an interim report before the Patna High Court on investigation relating to the alleged kidnapping of a witness in a murder case by JD(U) MP Prabhunath Singh and his associates.

Justices Afrab Alam and Rekha Kumari had directed Mr Gautam to get the matter inquired under his supervision during the hearing of a petition of the witness who was also the son of the victim.

Mr Gautam had directed superintendent of police of Saran to call all witnesses in the case on January 5, 2006, in Marhaura guest house and record statements from them.

The case would be heard again on January 23.

JD(U) MP Prabhunath Singh and his associates had been charged of kidnapping the witness of the murder of Lalmuni Devi in October.
