170 AI passengers at Sharjah may leave today

Dubai, Dec 20: More than 170 Air-India Express passengers, whowere stranded at Sharjah Airport yesterday after their flight gotdelayed due to a tyre burst, may leave today, an airline official toldEmirates.

''Flight IX 354 did not take off due to a tyre burst. We hope theflight will leave Sharjah this afternoon,'' the official said.

The passengers, who were served food, were confined to a smallpart of the airport as they had already passed through passport controlbut were not given accommodation.
