Vehicle loan for MLAs at 4 per cent interest

Bhopal, Dec 19 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government will facilitate bank loan upto Rs 5 lakh to the legislators at nominal 4 percent interest for purchasing vehicles.

While the MLAs have to pay only 4 percent interest, the remaining amount of interest would be provided by the state government as grant, official sources said.

A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of the consultative commiittee of the Law, Legislative Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs department chaired by Law Minister Narottam Mishra here yesterday.

The state government would also provide a grant of Rs 35,000 to the MLAs for purchasing computer and laptop computers.

The committee also decided to create a post of Deputy Secretary in the Parliamentary Affairs department and to send a proposal in this regard to the Finance department.
