TN CM to leave for Delhi to attend UPA meet

Chennai, Dec 19 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi would leave for New Delhi tomorrow to take part in the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Meeting scheduled for December 21.

Official sources said Mr Karunanidhi, accompanied by his Cabinet colleagues Arcot N Veerasamy and Duraimurugan, among others, is likely to return here on December 22.

This is Mr Karunanidhi's third visit to Delhi in the recent past.

He had visited Delhi on November 29 to participate in the talks on Mullaiperiyar Dam issue with his Kerala counterpart V S Achuthanandan.

The Chief Minister was in Delhi on December 9 when Prime Minister Manmohan Singh unveiled the statue of former Union Minister Murasoli Maran in the Parliament Complex.

During his stay, he called on President A P J Abdul Kalam and handed over a copy of the resolution unanimously passed by the Tamil Nadu Assembly to make Tamil the court language of Madras High Court and attended the National Development Council (NDC) meeting convened by the Centre.
