Stone India bags order for air brake system

New Delhi, Dec 19 (UNI) Stone India Ltd today said it has received an order for beam mounted air brake system for a complete freight train, valued at Rs 94 lakh.

The step will pave the way for gradual adoption of such brake systems in Indian Railways in not only in the new rolling stock, but also in old rolling stock refurbishment.

Indian Railway on an average runs more than 3,000 such trains, which may need retrofitment of such brake system. With new dedicated freight corridor, the freight traffic and number of such trains are bound to increase significantly.

The company has been successful in using its own patented high value safety product. Earlier, it had been acquiring sophisticated technology through foreign collaborations.
