Spirituality can provide religious harmony: President
Kochi, Dec 19 (UNI) Projecting Kerala as a model for religious harmony, President A P J Abdul Kalam today said through spirituality people of different religions can co-exist peacefully in the society.
Interacting with students after inaugurating a science museum here, he said every religion had two aspects-- theology and spirituality and through spirituality, there can be religious harmony.
He said the theological aspect of the religion cannot be changed but spirituality can bring in a common bonding.
''In Kerala, people of different religion live together and this has become a tradition of the state and part of India's culture,'' Dr Kalam noted.
When asked on dream and desire, the President said dream and desire were different.
He said a dream was inevitable and had a positive effect to progress but desire can only bring one's downfall.
'' The dreams should act as a pilot in one's life to acheive goals,'' Dr Kalam added.
He urged the student community to ignite their minds and pursue the goals.
