Sameer Jung emerges Air Pistol champ
Indore, Dec 19 (UNI) Samresh Jung of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has emerged the champion in the Air Pistol event of the 50th National Shooting Championship here in a close contest with Deepak Sharma.
Jung made eight other marksmen bite the dust at the Border Security Force's Reoti Range yesterday.
In the 25 m Rapid Fire Pistol men's team event, the Army (represented by Pemba Tamang, Ram Kishan and Vijay Kumar) bagged 1,699 points, the Navy (Mukesh Kumar, Harpreet Singh and Rahul Panwar) secured 1,627 and Maharashtra (Romel Pandit, Raunak Pandit and Ashok Pandit) notched up 1,606.
The 25 m Rapid Fire Pistol individual gold went to V Kumar (765.5), Tamang (751.8) took the silver and Kishan (749.4) received the bronze.
In the Junior National Championship, Army's Hambeer Singh, Surjeet Singh and Pushpendra Singh took the honours respectively.
The Army won the 50 m Rifle Prone team event as D V S Lakshmi Priya, Meena Kumari and Rajkumari topped with 1,769. Maharashtra's Anjali Bhagwat, Reena Lad and Tejaswini Sawant bagged the silver while Railway's Anuja Jung, Deepali Deshpande and Rakhee Samant took the bronze.
In the Junior Women's category, Yasmin Anwar, S Maithili and Hema K G of the National Cadet Corps scored 1,726 while Manipur's Nirmala Devi, Anita Devi and Saini Devi amassed 1,644 and Punjab's Jotweer Kaur Dandiwal, Reshu Tomar and Preeti Tomar scored 1,609.
Army's Rajkumari topped in the individual events, Sawant (Maharashtra) bagged the silver and Army's Kumari took the bronze.
In the 10 m Pistol event, Punjab (represented by Lakhbir Kaur, Rajwinder and Harveen Sarao) took the top honours while the silver went to the CISF (Shilpi Singh, Sarvesh Tomar and Rachna Devi) while the bronze was claimed by the Indian (formerly Indian Airlines) team comprising Annuraj Singh, Shweta Chaudhry and Seema Tomar.
In the Junior category, Punjab (Shefali Tomar, Ruby Tomar and Sarao) scored 1,100; Delhi (Naushin Fatima, Anjali Marwaha and Tanvi) amassed 1,087 and Maharashtra (Vidya B Jadhav, Aparna S Salunke and Mayuri Mukherjee) notched up 1,083.
The Women's Individual category gold went to CISF's Sonia Rai (482.4), the Railway's Aneesa Sayeed(478.8) took the silver while Punjab's Sarao (475.7) received the bronze.
