RFID expo in Bangalore from Jan 19
Bangalore, Dec 19 (UNI) Asia Technologies will host a three-day live exposition on Radio Frequency Identification in the city from January 19, with an objective of triggering its deployment and initiatives in India.
Trade Fair Division Chief Executive Officer Mathews Tanat told reporters here today that the expo was the first one in a series of expositions to be held in the country on this emerging technology.
''The Indian market has a big potential for growth of RFID and will witness a big boom in the next five years,'' he said.
Mr Tanat said the ultimate aim of the expo was to create awareness of RFID and promote its growth by providing live demonstration, which featured proof of concept for many applications in India. It was an attempt to update the user industries in India on the latest developments taking place in RDIF and its associated technologies - Access and Security, e-payments, networking, sensor networks, mobile computing and GPS, he added.
The expo would create a platform for international vendors, Indian and overseas system integrators, solution providers, consultants related associations and end users to discuss the various aspects of this technology, he said.
Mr Tanat said RFID technology created an automatic way to record information about a product, place and time or transaction quickly, easily and without human intervention.
The expo would feature the latest and most innovative products and services from top technology solution providers from the USA, the UK, Canada, Finland, Singapore and China, he said.
