Rana Sugars to generate addnl Rs 200cr revenue with new unit

New Delhi, Dec 19 (UNI) Rana Sugars Ltd today said it will generate additional revenues of Rs 200 crore during the current year with the commissioning of its sugar unit in Moradabad.

The commercial production of the 5,000 TCD unit alongwith facilities of power co-generation of 20 MW will start during January, 2007.

The company reported 4.13 per cent rise in net profits to Rs 2.8 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006 from Rs 2.7 crore in the corresponding quarter.

Sales for the quarter rose 80.70 per cent to Rs 43.85 crore compared with the corresponding quarter a year ago.

It is also diversifying into ethanol production at its distillery plant at Amritsar in Punjab.
