Pending Naga issue impedes development:Rio
Kohima, Dec 19(UNI) Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said the 'unsettled' Naga political problem and misunderstandings among various underground factions have hindered growth of the State.
Speaking as the Chief Guest in the Pre-Christmas celebration of the Dimapur Municipal Council(DMC) yesterday, Mr Rio said, ''Otherwise the state could have progressed rapidly.
He, however, said year 2006 had been an eventful year for both the Government and people of the state and cited the successes of the Year of the Farmers, North East Agri Expo, Hornbill Festival and other developmental activities.
While extending Christmas greetings to citizens, Mr Rio said the festive season was a time for forgiving forgive, reconciliation and welcome peace.
Lok Sabha Member from Nagaland Wangyuh Konyak, Industries Minister Khekiho Zhimomi and several other dignatories were also present on the occasion.
